The Director of Golf Operations & Events (DOGE) is an integral part of the golf course management team. The DOGE will be responsible for helping to hire, schedule and supervise the inside and outside staff at the Warren GC and the ND Golf Course. This person will help develop and track the labor budget and ensure the operation stays within those guidelines. The DOGE is the primary marketer, planner and executor of golf outings and all Players Association events at the WGC. The DOGE is the primary contact for outing and tournament prospects throughout the year. Additional responsibilities at the DOGE include: developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and sales plan each year and assisting with the point of sale/tee time reservation software system and GPS/cart system. This person will coordinate monitor and maintain merchandise levels at the course, and develop/present sales and expense updates and present them to the Head Professional on a monthly basis. The DOGE handles all communication, scheduling and contractual activities with golf leagues at the Notre Dame golf courses. The DOGE will schedule events, check-in guests, assist guests with pro shop purchases, book tee times and order/receive/unpack and display merchandise and serve as opening/closing manager as needed, as well as coordinate with the food service provider for any associated social function.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate & manage all University systems in place for purchasing, labor, etc.
Assist Head Golf Professional with new revenue sources and marketing strategies
Serve as the primary contact person & coordinator for outings and tournament planning
Develop, promote and run the Warren Course Players Association events throughout the year
Serve as administrator of the Golf Handicap System
Maintain proper inventory levels of merchandise at both courses
Work with the Superintendent and/or Game Day operations personnel to coordinate FB parking at the ND/Burke Course
Develop & implement a comprehensive sales and marketing plan for the courses prior to each season
Coordinate all golf league activities at the Burke course
Assist in hiring, and supervise inside & outside staff at both University Golf Courses
Serve as the director on duty at the WGC, including opening and/or closing responsibilities
Check in golfers, monitor the status of golf activity and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the optimum guest experience
Accept reservations, process purchases and otherwise assist guest
Responsible for all safety & weather related protocols when staffing the golf course
Coordinate & communicate with varsity coaches and maintenance staff as necessary when staffing the course
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree within Business or a related field
1 to 2 years experience within operations with a preference to golf
Good Interpersonal Communication Skills
Computer skills Word, Excel, Publisher, Google Suite
