Position Summary


Samsung is a world leader in Memory, LCD and System LSI technologies. We are currently looking for exceptional software and hardware talent to join our Samsung Austin R & D Center (SARC) in Austin, TX and our Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) in San Jose, CA to pioneer Samsungs next generation of CPU and GPU custom designs.


Role and Responsibilities


As a member of the architecture team you will develop performance models and triage to fix performance related issues for a highly efficient mobile GPU.

The responsibilities of the team will include:

  • Working closely with the architecture, SW, and design teams to understand the architecture and micro-architecture of the GPU and its units and to triage and fix performance related issues

  • Develop tools and methodology to correlate and validate performance models for performance tracking and projection

  • Identifying architecture, micro-architecture, and implementation optimizations to improve performance, power, and area of the GPU and its units


Skills and Qualifications


Minimum required skills:

  • MSEE/CE/CS or MSEE with 2+ years' relevant industry experience

  • Deep understanding of GPU or computer architecture and micro-architecture concepts

  • Good understanding of VLSI concepts, HW design

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of GPU and Graphics Pipelines

  • Knowledge of GPU graphics and compute workloads including computer vision, image processing, and AI

  • Knowledge of game applications and game rendering engines.

  • Good programming and/or scripting skills (Python is a plus)

  • Good understanding of power/performance trade-offs
