WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Industrial Engineer provides plant manufacturing with support in the areas of line speed calculations and reporting, throughput and downtime evaluations, and capacity and labor analysis. As part of the Operational Excellence department, the Industrial Engineer also supports the plant with Operational Excellence expertise in the areas of data analysis, line performance improvements, statistical process control (SPC), change management, and training.
Major Responsibilities
Monitoring and reporting metrics for plant production areas
Developing and maintaining annual plant line speed and material loss rates.
Accountable for managing the site’s capability and capacity related data/information.
Actively supporting the site’s Operational Excellence and continuous improvement programs
Observing, analyzing, and supporting operations leading to business process improvement recommendations
Coaching / mentoring Yellow and Green Belt teams on the proper application of Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Facilitating cross-functional events including Kaizen, focus-problem solving, root cause analysis (RCAs), and other continuous improvement related activities
Solving complex problems using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Providing cost improvement project support for those projects which affect material loss, labor increases or reduction, and/or throughput changes
Other plant support as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence – necessary to understand plant operations
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt – necessary to coach / mentor Green Belt teams
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
PREFERRED
At least 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Microsoft Power BI experience
Experience with overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) data management, statistical process control (SPC), financial budgets/standards
High degree of technical expertise and familiarity with manufacturing processes
Must possess strong communication, leadership, problem solving, interpersonal, and teamwork skillsÂ
