Staples Order Lifecycle Systems team enables scalable, efficient, and intelligent order and delivery solutions, and exceptional customer experience through our expertise in business domains and technologies. We are seeking a Lead Java Software Engineer to **drive transformation at Staples Transportation** . This individual will work with technical teams to build and maintain a scalable platform for Staples Transportation Network. If you are Customer-Centric, Results-Focused, and Innovative you will love it here! **Your Role** As a Lead Software engineer, you will design and develop our **new Last Mile Platform** from the ground up. You will apply distributed computing to design and implement system architectures that are highly scalable, highly available and fully fault tolerant. You will collaborate with cross functional teams working with cutting edge technologies. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about applying technology to delight customers and improving business outcomes. **What youll be doing:** + Design algorithms and develop applications in areas of transportation systems + Designing scalable architecture systems for **Java** -based applications. + Utilize and promote cloud-first approach, event driven architecture. + Develop distributed services utilizing components from public cloud + Participate in the entire SaaS life cycle applying best practices that drive agility and quality + Work closely with product management and program management to derive application requirements, set expectations, and communicate progress + Reviewing the work of other developers and providing feedback. + Using coding standards and best practices to ensure quality. + Adopt to fast-paced iterative development, ci/cd, testing and deployment. + Troubleshooting design flaws and system bottlenecks. **Qualifications :** **Whats needed- Basic Qualifications** Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 7+ years of relevant industry experience Lead level expertise exercising technical influence on a team of engineers through requirements, architecture, and design **Expert programming skills in Enterprise Java frameworks** implementing microservices and applying object-oriented principles for application design Understanding of operating distributed data systems at scale such as event-driven solutions, lambda services and so on.
