WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT? As our Sr. Digital Editorial Development Manager, you will be one of the key Editorial voices leading the transformation of VHLs K-12 print products into elevated digital solutions.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:  

  • Participate in VHL digital development as a key stakeholder representing the business, especially those associated with emerging and/or strategic technology initiatives in the K12 market.

  • Integrate knowledge and insight from Editorial, Marketing, and Sales in the evaluation, assessment, and decision-making process and management for projects.

  • Own the digital needs assessments and user research process from start to finish; reporting on findings making recommendations that balance the needs of the market with the objectives of the business

  • Provide end-to-end digital product content development.

  • Develop frameworks and solutions for metadata and ontology systems.

  • Maintain publishing roadmaps and associated projects that align with key business timelines.

  • Partner with the Sr. Product Manager to develop, measure, and achieve KPIs for platform experiences.

  • Partner with the UX design team and Sr. Product Manager to develop, test, and finalize holistic digital experiences.

  • Develop and implement integrated digital strategies that reflect the current competitive landscape and are aligned with the business's strategic roadmap.

YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor's Degree minimum required.

  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing digital products for an editorial team

  • Extensive experience in K12 education and with print/digital products

  • Experience developing analysis-based strategic plans in order to develop successful digital products

  • Experience using market trends and intelligence to advance thinking and plans

  • Excellent communication skills and experience translating technical editorial and product information to non-technical or non-editorial audiences

  • Technical aptitude using ticketing and project management systems

  • Experience working cross-functionally with software, product and engineering teams

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

IDEAL IF YOU HAVE or ARE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

  • Experience with VHL products or similar

  • Experience with JIRA, SmartSheets, Confluence, Microsoft Suite, and Adobe Acrobat

LOCATION   

Hybrid Remote/Boston In-Office: The ideal candidate will be willing to work a hybrid schedule (both remote and travel to the Boston, MA office location as needed.  Candidate must reside within the continental United States to be considered.
