This position has the ability to be located in Philadelphia or Washington, DC pending candidate location and preference.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Join a fast-paced team delivering Continuous Improvement and Lean projects and initiatives with company-wide impact. Work collaboratively with business leaders and Subject Matter Experts from Finance and across the company. Partner with IT to deliver new capabilities, measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and revenue increases in line with stated goals.


The Lead Continuous Improvement Specialist will work within the Finance Continuous Improvement team to groom the project backlog and execute pre-work on upcoming sprints. This will include assessing project concepts, identifying the value that each sprint can deliver to the business, and drafting scope boundaries for discussion. The Lead Continuous Improvement Specialist will execute research to gather key artifacts for the sprint team, which will include qualitative and quantitative data, and will organize the materials to standard formats for the sprint.


The Lead Continuous Improvement Specialist will utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile techniques to improve process performance and deliver superior internal-facing enterprise-wide results. Will research and propose process metrics and gather data to document process efficiency gains. Will support the Sr. Manager of Continuous Improvement to execute complicated sprints with high visibility deliverables by working cross-functionally with peers and subject matter experts from other departments using standard project management tools and techniques supported by excellent communication skills. Will execute sprints independently under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of Continuous Improvement. Will partner with IT to translate business needs into functional requirements by describing; Use Cases, diagramming Future State Processes, and writing User Stories.


Will support the growth of Finance and Corporate continuous improvement capabilities by the creation of a Continuous Improvement community of practice. Will support development and deployment of Lean and Agile methodologies and tools across the organization.


This role works under moderate supervision and is expected to take a supporting or lead role in CI assignments and associated deliverables as directed. Reports directly to the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement within the Finance team.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Consults with Sr, Manager, Continuous Improvement to define scopes of work, stakeholders, deliverables, schedules, and goals.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of existing business processes and solutions by establishing baseline metrics and performing comparative, trend, and/or other analyses.

  • Performs independent data-gathering research.

  • Analyzes and synthesizes complex data sets.

  • Leads stakeholders to align on project objectives, scope boundaries, resources, solution requirements, and solutions.

  • Supports or leads continuous improvement project delivery by collaborating with stakeholders, colleagues, and senior management to implement system and/or process improvements.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders, colleagues, and senior management to implement system and/or process improvements.

  • Drafts findings and recommends solutions.

  • Responsible for the organization and archiving of project documentation.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Analytics, Operations Management, Finance, or other relevant degree.

  • 6 years of business analysis, business process improvement / business process reengineering, business systems analysis, business systems implementation, and/or project management (10 years relevant experience required in lieu of a degree).

  • Familiarity with project management principles and/or experience working in a project management environment.

  • Experience with independently project managing a workstream.

  • Experience facilitating a continuous improvement effort from concept to solution delivery with a team of stakeholders.

  • Experience communicating project results to executive audiences.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and business process modeling software (Visio, Bizagi, BonitaSoft, iServer).



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8 years of business analysis, business process improvement / business process reengineering, business systems analysis, business systems implementation, and/or project management (12 years relevant experience required in lieu of a degree).

  • Master's Degree.

  • Management consulting experience.

  • Certifications in Change Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and/or Agile.

  • Experience with Finance or Grants Management modules of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

  • Experience with enterprise systems implementations.

  • Experience with test case creation and user acceptance testing.

  • Experience diagramming processes using business process modeling notation (BPMN).

  • Experience creating failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).

  • Experience in data analytics, analyzing and interpreting quantitative data and qualitative information sufficient to draw conclusions and make business decisions.

  • Working knowledge of management information systems terminology, concepts, and practices.



COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
