Lead Senior Manager Data Engineer (Remote Eligible)

Cloud Productivity Engineering provides foundational infrastructure services and shapes the future of Capital One with support of strategic objectives - like becoming cloud native through cloud safety and smart cost management, or by looking into what we do well and how we can commercialize it. CPE also focuses on shaping the developer experience, staying well-managed with our products and portfolios, and creating access experiences that enable associates to deliver on Capital Ones mission.
**What Youll Do:**
+ Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in backend stack development tools and technologies
+ Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions to move, process, and transform large amounts of data using the latest open source technologies ideally suited for these tasks.
+ Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community
+ Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
+ Utilize programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, Golang, Spark, SQL, Akka, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services
+ Delivery based on micro servicearchitecture and programming frameworks like Spring Boot and Akka

**Basic** **Qualifications:**
+ Bachelors Degree
+ At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
+ At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GoogleCloud)
**Preferred** **Qualifications:**
+ 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, or Scala
+ 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloudservice
+ 3+ years of experience in open source frameworks
+ 3+ years of experience working with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Presto)
+ 2+ years of experience working on streaming data applications (e.g. Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, or Spark Streaming)
+ 5+ years experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting
+ 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
+ Experience in mentoring others and leading development efforts
