Job Description

Key Accountabilities (Allocate the % of total working time spending on each accountability, which should be added up to 100%)

Individual Accountabilities:

  • Lead a Canadian Retirement program focused on specific business delivery (e.g. Retirement Member Experience), working collaboratively with senior business leaders and other Divisions to ensure a successful implementation (60%)

    • Develop plan and manage efficiently and effectively implementations across business Workstreams

    • Work closely with business leadership to understand strategy and objectives, ensuring the program is delivering aligned solutions

    • Manage in a constantly changing environment, ensuring clear communication across all impacted parties

    • Provide program level communications to senior IT and Business leaders to ensure status is understood, and issues/risks are getting the proper attention

    • A passion for delivery - understanding processes, managing through roadblocks, and a focus on continuously improving how work is done to improve velocity

    • Effectively manage Issues and Risks

  • Lead and develop a strong team of professionals to both meet the program objectives, and to grow them in their professional careers (30%)

    • Develop the skills and growth of team members through mentorship, training, and providing opportunities within the program

    • Work to ensure the team is engaged, and address performance issues in a diligent and appropriate manner


  • Lead in ensuring the IT solutions align to the business strategy (10%)

    • Work with Architecture, Tech Leads and Business SMEs to ensure the IT solution being developed is fit-for-purpose for the business need.

    • Collaborate with Technical Program Managers within the organization to ensure solutions align across the organization

Job Requirement:

  • 5 - 10 years of progressive management experience including IT / Financial Services strategic planning/execution

  • Previous experience in technology-oriented and Financial Services industry

  • Experience in program management

  • Experience in leading and motivating teams

  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry-standard project management best practices

  • Business related degree or equivalent work experience

  • PMP / ITIL certification is appreciated

  • Coaching and Leading Others through Change

  • Experience transitioning projects to support teams

  • Experience in IT Implementation

  • Experienced mentor, and drive to build people's careers

  • Good knowledge of business management. & financial planning

  • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration

  • Strong presentation and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Deep knowledge of project management principles & techniques
