Low Latency Linux Systems Engineer , Core Technology Infrastructure

**Job Description:**
Position Summary
+ Platform/Linux Architecture and Engineering
+ Work hand-in-hand with the banks Engineering team to design solutions that meet the unique needs of the eTrading environment
+ Iterative performance tuning of the bank-standard build to optimize for various eTrading workloads.
+ Performance/stability testing to guide design and implementation of GIS tools in the low-latency environment using low-level 3rd party and Linux tools
+ Development and implementation of an automated build/rebuild capability that has allowed NextGen to be extraordinarily flexible as requirements change
+ Tools Development (providing structure and manageability for the non-core locations)
+ Updated and manage automated, Ansible-based configuration management tool which provide critically consistent builds for a variety of application classes
+ Manage Ansible-based OS Patching solution for the low latency plant which continues to be supported for the Server Patching
+ Support of Prometheus-based capacity management solution to meet the unique 1-sec granularity requirements of the low-latency environment
+ Continued development and maintenance of highly technical and customized post-change checkout scripts to assess the health of eTrading-specific components (Azul/ZVM, Onload, Mellanox RDMA, custom BIOS settings, etc.)
+ Senior System Administration (Service Requests, Incidents, Planned Changes)
+ On call for any/all serious or complex incidents in the NextGen eTrading environment
+ Document solutions, through the use of Jira/Wiki/ITSM
+ Regularly engaged in low-level troubleshooting of latency outliers identified by the ETT business and/or clients
+ Work closely with the resources who assist in the tasks supporting the environment, as well as the peer Core Hosting Support teams.

+ Experience with performance tuning, and latency analysis
+ Knowledge and experience supporting core systems (DELL/HP/NetApp) and storage platform services in which the infrastructure is dependentAbility to self-manage projects with clients and technical peers to tight deadlines
+ Ability to work under pressure
Desired Skills
+ Solid understanding of storage products (NAS) Experience with enterprise tools such as Bladelogic, Discovery and Tanium is a plus Working knowledge of Jira a plus Solid understanding of networking and DMZ environments Solid understanding of Midrange Hardware and Components (HP/Dell/Mellanox/SolarFlare)

**Jersey City pay range:**
$94,100 - $155,200
annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
