This role will be instrumental in a larger initiative within North American Operations. As Beam strives to be the "world's fastest growing spirits company," the company aims to gain competitive advantage through Lean manufacturing, strategic planning, and strengthened procurement. The Materials Manager will lead their team to immediately drive efficiency and effectiveness across producing facilities in North America by improving business processes, building cross functional cooperation, and increasing focus on streamlining manual processes.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Material Planning teams, providing regular goals, performance feedback and coaching to help the team meet their requirements.

  • Represent North America Supply Chain and Operations in cross functional workstreams, including S&OP and New Product Development.

  • Direct responsibility for improving forecasting, inventory levels, service levels and inventory turns.

  • Develop relationships with external partners and oversee supplier forecasting process, leveraging MRP to optimize supply availability while minimizing E&O inventory risk.

  • Provide insights to future capacity and supply constraints from our suppliers as well as material handling/warehousing constraints within our operating units.

  • Determine item level MRP strategies and partner with Procurement to ensure timely and accurate execution of purchase orders and track on time shipments.

  • Be the expert on Product Lifecycle Management and MRP to influence cross functional team members outside of supply chain.

  • Drive standardization and implement global best practices for MRP to drive inventory optimization within the North American Supply Chain.

  • Contribute to development of business strategies and tactics to address supply chain optimization problems, as identified.


Qualifications & Experience

  • 4-year college degree preferred/relevant experience considered

  • Strong MS Excel skills

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant planning/project management experience in a high-performance manufacturing facility - food and beverage industry preferred

  • APICS, CIPM, or NAPM, CPM certification preferred

  • Analytically inclined - able to merge large data sets, analyze data, synthesize business insight and clearly communicate findings.

  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to partner with and influence internal partners and external vendors

  • Problem Solver - applies critical-thinking skills to generate, evaluate and implement solutions.

  • Change Agile - Successfully adapts to changing situations. Manages ambiguity in the function/ role.

  • Collaborative across cross functional teams
