Cosentini Associates (www.cosentini.com), a Tetra Tech company, invites you to consider an exciting opportunity at our New York office. We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join our renowned design team to design.

About this opportunity:
As a Mechanical Designer/Engineer at Cosentini, you will have the opportunity to have the opportunity to work as an engineer on exciting and challenging projects. You will be working with some of the top engineers in the field, gaining expertise and building your reputation and career, and have a chance to make a difference through using your experience to support the process of bringing MEP/FP designs to reality.

Your role:
Review and analyze architectural and engineering plans using AutoDesk Revit software
Perform detailed engineering calculations to support HVAC system design including heating and cooling load calculations, static pressure calculations, hydraulic head pressure calculations and other related engineering
Perform design, sizing and layout of ductwork and piping distribution systems
Perform sizing and selection of HVAC equipment to support overall design
Perform periodic field observation visits to review the progress of construction of HVAC systems
Attend meetings with architects, contractors, owners and building managers.
Organize project engineering data and maintain project records
Prepare HVAC drawings using AutoDesk Revit
Support construction administration activities by reviewing submittals and preparing responses to Requests for Information and providing input as needed.
Performing other duties as assigned

What kind of candidate are we looking for?
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated B.S. candidate in Mechanical Engineering, with an interest in building systems design, with 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial, institutional and healthcare facilities, have an organized approach to analyzing systems and a thorough understanding of MEP/FP systems.

Qualifications/Skills include:
Proficient with the use of AutoCAD and Revit software
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Excellent technical skills, strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment
Ability and desire to work diligently in order to meet project deadlines
PE registration is highly preferred, or EIT with the ability to obtain a P.E.
