The Boeing Company is currently seeking a **Mid Level Software Engineer, Level 3** to join the SLS EUS Software Test group/team located in **Titusville, FL.** This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.


**Position Responsibilities:**


+ Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

+ Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

+ Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

+ Performs software project management and software supplier management functions

+ Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics

+ Executes and documents software research and development projects

+ Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

+ Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards

+ Works under general direction


**Export Control Statement:**


**The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.**


**This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options** **Titusville, FL.**


**Variable Shift:**


Must be willing to work occasional variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.


**Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):**


+ Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

+ 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting complex hardware/software systems

+ 3+ years of experience with technical writing and/or process documentation

+ 1+ years of experience in Linux Red Hat or Centos

+ 1+ years of experience in systems administration, security, and scripting experience with Linux and Windows operating systems

+ 3+ years of experience using all the following Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)


**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):**


+ Experience with software engineering process for safety critical applications, especially NASA safety critical real-time control systems

+ Experience with formal software testing and continuous integration across the software lifecycle

+ Experience developing and maintaining test scripts, particularly bash and Python

+ Experience in Linux and Windows System Administration

+ Experience with engineering tools: Microsoft Office tools (Access, Excel, Outlook, Project, Visio, Word) and Windchill

+ Experience with developing and maintaining formal engineering logbooks and redlines

+ Experience using simulators and special test equipment

+ Experience with requirements management tools, particularly DOORS

+ Experience with industrial power supplies (safe operations, configuration, SCPI)

+ Experience with communications protocols and message structures

+ Experience troubleshooting networks from physical to application layer

+ Experience supporting a program using a continuous integration process

+ Experience with software languages: bash, C++, Java, Python, and Tcl/Tk

+ Experience with software development tools: Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira), git, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, GNU make, databases (SQL or similar), and VS Code

+ Experience with software development methodologies: agile, kanban, scrum, DevOps

+ Experience with additional tools/technologies: Ansible, C#, Docker, QT, Wireshark, YAML

+ Candidate should have strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, be customer-oriented, positive, flexible, detail oriented, and a strong team player


**Typical Education/Experience:**


+ Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)

+ In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
