The Engineering Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework.
We are hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Database as a Service team. You will participate in the design, build, run, and modernization of our databases. You are part of a senior technical team ensuring our databases are secure, highly available, and recoverable. They troubleshoot and consult with other support teams to resolve issues and implement process improvements to avoid reoccurrences. You will perform all database administration tasks and should be well versed with database features, utilities, and recovery procedures. You must collaborate with application teams to tune queries to ensure minimal resource consumption and optimal throughput.
Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting **Mongodb/PostgreSQL/Couchdb** for Citis Database as a Service (DBaaS) cloud implementation.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Senior **MongoDB/PostgreSQL/Couchbase** database engineer to support Database as a Service platform.
+ Experience with performance and troubleshooting on MongoDB/PostgresSQL/Couchbase Databases.
+ Experience with upgrades/migrations for Mongodb/PostgreSQL/Couchbase databases.
+ Implement, setup and maintain and upgrade **MongoDB OPS Manager/Cloud Manager** .
+ Must be knowledgeable and experienced in managing PostgreSQL on multiple operating systems including Linux (RHEL) and Zlinux one platform.
+ Working Knowledge of connection poolers (pgPool and pgBouncer).
+ Install, monitor and maintain PostgreSQL software, implement monitoring and alerting.
+ Experience in building high-scalable clusters, failover and hot standby solutions based on Maximum available architecture.
+ Ability to work well with development and infrastructure teams in doing database design, changes and enhancement to new and existing applications.
+ Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap
+ Experience with on prem and hybrid cloud enviroment support.
+ Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, run-books etc.)
+ Create complex project plans, perform impact analyses, solve/work high impact problems/projects, and provide resolution to restore services
+ Provide technical/strategic direction to team members.
+ Review requirement documents, define hardware requirements and update processes and procedures as necessary
+ Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements
+ Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
+ Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members
+ Responsible for DBaaS solutions application release testing and life cycle management automation and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using Jenkins
+ Ability to work well with development and infrastructure teams in doing database design, changes and enhancement to new and existing applications
+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
**Qualifications:**
+ 5 years plus relevant experience as an engineer for **Database as a Service platform** .
+ **Strong experience of MongoDB ,PostgresSQL and Couchbase databases.**
+ 5+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding.
+ 5+ years of experience in administration of MongoDB Ops Mgr setup, upgrades, Monitoring , Backup, restores and Automation.
+ **Experience with Mongodb on Zlinux is a plus.**
+ Expertise in MongoDB installation, deployment and upgrade procedures including public clouds.
+ Expertise in MongoDB database performance tuning and Query optimization.
+ Exposure to infrastructure and platform capabilities - container, middleware, messaging, routing components
+ Expertise in MongoDB HA and Scalable Architecture.
+ Comfortable in using MongoDB tools like, mongostat, mongotop, mongoexport, mongoimport, mongodump, mongorestore etc. Database Security management and User Management.
+ Experience on VMware technologies like ESXi, vSphere systems administration and support, including vMotion, HA, DRS, vCenter Operations Manager, vCenter Update Manager and Site Recovery Manager.
+ Experienced in managing PostgreSQL including upgrades/migrations and performance tuning.
+ Adequate exposure to any public cloud based deployments (IaaS and PaaS), AWS/GCP/Azure
+ Experience in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization for MongoDB/PostgreSQL/Couchdb.
+ Having Experience in MongoDB and PostgreSQL migration from other db like Oracle.
+ Programming and scripting languages (Python, bash, Java Script - additional experience with PHP, Groovy, Java, and/or Go is a plus).
+ Using Ci/CD scripting tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
+ Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, and docker-compose).
+ Preferred experience with GIT, GITFlow, JIRA, Confluence and Agile frameworks.
+ Must have a solid understanding of latest web technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS), REST, SOAP, XML, JSON and other relevant API standards like OAuth, SAML.
+ Experience in a Financial Services or large complex and/or global environment preferred
+ Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience
+ Strong browser front-end UX design and implementation skills including Angular, Node.JS, React, Javascript, HTML5/CSS3, Bootstrap, jQuery etc.
+ Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment working with a global team
+ You have strong communication skills with the ability to influence, manage and articulate clearly to project stakeholders and senior management
+ You have a positive, do what it takes attitude to drive success
+ 5 years of relevant experience in an Database and Engineering role
+ Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
+ Project Management experience
+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
+ Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
+ Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills
+ Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
+ Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
+ Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
+ Proven track record of operational process change and improvement.
