**ROLE SUMMARY**



The US Rare Disease Operational Excellence Senior Manager will act as a key partner to all Rare Disease commercial and cross-functional teams, working to maximize the performance and effectiveness of teams by breaking down siloes, ensuring appropriate/compliant strategic alignment across teams, and optimizing the culture and colleague engagement of the US Rare Disease Business Unit. This colleague will lead multiple strategic initiatives and priority projects to ensure TA/Team specific needs are met and aligned to the broader BU vision by collaborating with colleagues across the organization and the Rare Disease Leadership Team. Additionally, this colleague will ensure operational efficiency and simplicity by designing fit-for-purpose business processes and governance across Enterprise and RD Stakeholders related to BU data management/stewardship, Leadership & CFC reporting and dashboards, and current/future BU & Enterprise initiatives (BM3.3, Lightspeed, Org Excellence, etc.)



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



The individual should be comfortable operating in ambiguity with an ability to get things done by possessing a combination of project management capabilities with excellent communication skills, presentation abilities, strategic thinking, and matrix leadership competency. S/he will report directly to the US Rare Disease Commercial Effectiveness Lead and collaborate closely with commercial effectiveness team members, marketing teams, sales/account teams, BAI, payer, medical, corporate affairs, legal, finance, external third-party vendors, operations and digital.



Key responsibilities include:



**US Rare Disease Operations**



+ Manage, in conjunction with communications, US RD Lead's internal and external communications/speaking engagements for events including but not limited to townhalls, POAs, and external speaking engagements

+ Act as a key enabler in building a strong culture and alignment to the RDNA Vision / Pfizer's purpose and values through partnerships with Communications, HR, US RD Colleague Advisory Committee, and others ensuring optimal understanding and uptake across the organization. This includes activities such as Future Forums, Together Towards Tomorrow dialog sessions, pull through and leadership of Enterprise and Rare Disease recognition and awareness days (eg. Give Forward, World Duchenne Day, Patients in Focus weeks) recognition, Pulse survey and action planning, etc

+ Be an accelerator by ensuring alignment within the business and Biopharma, participating on or leading special projects, leveraging an extensive network to seek out and apply learnings for greater efficiency or faster impact and ensuring effective use of resources by maximizing the use of matrixed and enabling function teams.

+ Provide key inputs to internal and external communications and partner with communications specialists and others as required developing and implementing effective communications strategies to ensure clarity and consistency of communications



**Data Management/Stewardship & Reporting Excellence**



+ Research and evaluate external data landscape and make recommendations on RD / TA-specific data needs

+ Assist and/or manage data procurement and processing budget

+ Partner with BAI/Operations/Digital/GRWD to manage data vendors, metric & business rule alignment, reporting governance and platform management

+ Ensure reporting accuracy and consistency across all Rare Disease teams by coordinating periodic business rule review and making recommendations to streamline/improve metrics

+ Serve as a key liaison between leadership, vendors and key stakeholders

+ Plan, direct and coordinate new and ongoing projects (SMART) to ensure on-time completion within budget and successful deployment in collaboration with CE Team



**QUALIFICATIONS**



+ BA/BS Degree required. MBA or other advanced professional degree (e.g., PhD, MD, JD) preferred

+ 5 years of previous pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales/consulting experience with a strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical marketplace and deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, broader trends in healthcare landscape and economics.

+ 2+ years of commercial analytical experience including broad background in consulting, business analytics, finance, health economics, marketing strategy or equivalent set of experiences required

+ Excellent analytical skills, including strategic thinking, ability to frame problems and opportunities using supporting data, problem solving and measuring impact

+ Demonstrated proficiency at leading complex multi-faceted projects and managing cross-functional teams

+ A thought leader and self-starter, proactively identifying the need for specific analyses and programs, and marshaling the resources to evaluate and resolve the most challenging, strategic issues

+ Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to lead change and influence without direct authority

+ Ability to influence and establish good working relationships with senior executives

+ Excellent communication skills, including presentations, PowerPoint/written, meeting facilitation, and one-on-one/small group

+ Passion for innovation and excellence in achieving results

+ Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
