The Operational Finance Manager is accountable for various aspects of financial accounting, reporting and financial management. The position relies heavily on analytical abilities and experience to sort through data and prepares meaningful information to assist management with decision making, financial deliverables, and business performance metrics and reports. This individual will assist in carrying out the company's financial plan, its internal controls, the maintenance of its financial records, and the preparation of various financial reports. This individual will report to the Operations Controller.
Responsible for maintaining accurate Cost Accounting for products, inventory valuation, and cost analysis.
Monthly analysis of manufacturing costs, variances, and absorption as well as Price Purchase Variance (PPV) and Materials Usage Variance (MUV)
Takes lead in calculating corporate monthly cost savings initiatives for reporting to corporate
Other monthly reporting includes, but is not limited to: Excess & Obsolete inventory, Warranty expense and reserve, Scrap expense analysis, book to perpetual inventory reconciliation for onsite and offsite inventory
Track, manage, and amortize consignment inventory, as well as ensure products are audited with quarterly confirmations
Work closely with procurement to effectively report on the efficiency of company purchasing activities
Coordinate annual standard cost roll with materials group, manufacturing group, IT and Product Managers
Develop labor and overhead rates for annual cost roll
Interaction with operations and material resource planning to ensure Bills of Material are accurate and up to date
Perform month-end financial close process including journal entries, account reconciliations and corporate reporting requirements
Lead physical inventory count from accounting perspective and investigation of book to physical variances
Work with the Company/External Auditors to support annual/periodic audit activities
Perform special projects upon request
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Advanced finance degree desired (CMA, MBA, CPA)
5+ years' experience in manufacturing environment
At least 1 year cost accounting experience
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Microsoft Dynamics Navision is a plus
Superior organizational skills and attention to details
Work requires effective oral and written communications skills as well as a strong analytical acumen
Confident and self-motivated with a flexible approach to work
