Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) delivers a suite of payments services to financial institutions via FedLine Solutions, Fedwire, National Settlement Service (NSS), FedCash, FedACH, and Check Services. We are currently leading a strategic effort to transform FRFS to a national, enterprise-focused organization. Over time, FRFS will offer an increasingly integrated set of Federal Reserve payment services, incorporating the FedNow Service upon its market entry. The Integration Platform exists in an exciting and dynamic time. We are building a team who will lead the FRFS as it continues to need integration, abstraction, communication capabilities across systems, applications, SaaS, platforms/PaaS, functions and business processes.

Job Summary

The Platform Owner - Integration is responsible for the day-to-day management of Integration platform activities including planning, budgeting, design, delivery, operational, and prioritization of platform features to support business needs. The Platform Owner is expected to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge of the Integration platforms being managed and the ability to prioritize platform technical features that provide the most value to product teams using the platform. The Platform Owner advocates for business needs by applying a deep understanding of the platforms processes, features, goals, problems and opportunities and partners with product managers and System IT technology providers involved in the delivery of capabilities. The level of work required is considered advanced. Performs work independently with limited supervision and direction from the platform manager, sponsors, and/or stakeholders. This position does not have direct reports.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Platform Lifecycle Management and Team Leadership

  • Manages the delivery of platform value through collaborations with cross-functional teams and multiple tech stacks

  • Owns and manages platform requirements and features from concept through delivery

  • Owns and manages the platform backlog to ensure user stories are appropriately defined, prioritized, ready for development, and any detailed design needs, and accepted as done

  • Manages cross-functional dependencies and adjusts schedule, priorities, and releases as appropriate

  • Able to partner across Architecture, Engineering, Portfolio/Program/Technology Transformation, Product & Platform Security, DevOps, QA, Release, and Consumers of the Platforms; understand architectural, software engineering concepts, site reliability engineering practices, and effectively organize approaches which appreciate diverse perspectives

  • Collaborate across the delivery teams and processes; opportunity to participate in providing mentorship to Scrum Master and help ensure the team has what it needs to succeed; co-develop a healthy team culture

Operational Excellence

  • Manages platform-related problems, communicates direction, makes decisions, completes trade-off analysis and manages scope to ensure delivery of desired business outcomes

  • Prioritize defect / bug resolution and manages the backlog to address platform learnings and quality issues

  • Tracks, reports, and communicates platform metrics, issues and status updates to Platform Manager and various levels of customers, stakeholders, and partners

  • Tracks and manages Development, Operational, Risk awareness, Security Assurance activities (FedRAMP/Security Assurance for the Federal Reserve/Cloud Assurance) for the platform

  • Ensures the Platform has and maintains Audit readiness

  • Brings thought leadership on Tooling as well as ideas on how to influence current or new Tooling

  • Reviews and approves the platform architecture/design as a stakeholder; and operational documentation updates, publication and enablement on operational capabilities and models

Your Background

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education and/or experience, knowledge and skills noted below

  • Seven or more years of relevant work experience

  • Two or more years of technical work experience

  • Two or more years of experience with at least 1-3 types of technology and/or digital experiences

  • Advanced technical understanding of platform capabilities

  • Advanced understanding of technology delivery and platform management; product team and/or product management experience also desirable

  • Strong understanding of and real-life experience with agile life cycle methodologies (e.g. SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).

  • Manage and help define and refine Objectives & Key Results; Enabling epics, Features, User stories and define Acceptance Criteria, Definition of Done

  • Experience with Salesforce Integration (eg. Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Anypoint Community Manager), Salesforce Administration, MuleSoft, IBM-based tech stacks a plus and highly desirable; Experience with SaaS and PaaS and/or Infrastructure as code a plus

  • Experience with the rigors of the System Development Lifecycle, in support of critical infrastructure and/or applications, highly preferred

  • An appreciation of and/or passion for Design thinking desired

  • Build strong relationships with vendors and implementation partners; interest in ensuring the FRS gets consistent support and also collaboration from key vendors who contribute towards the Platforms
