There is no challenge we can't turn into opportunity. Our work depends on TS/SCI level cleared Postgres Automation Engineer joining our team to support our Intelligence customer in Springfield, VA.
This position supports the Geospatial Services & Solutions business area to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions to the customer. As part of the GSS Team the engineer's expertise is needed to support a sophisticated enterprise environment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, deploy, and maintain Postgres databases solutions leveraging automation and infrastructure-as-code.
Monitor and tune the systems to achieve optimum DB/DW performance levels
Develop, optimize, and tune stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and queries, in support of business intelligence and analytic applications.
Work in close collaboration with a group of Automation Engineers, Infrastructure Administrators, Front End Developers, and Data Scientists
Evaluate and make recommendations regarding data integrity
Diagnose, isolate and expediently resolve complex problems pertaining to data structures
Develop methods of ensuring that data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated
Develop and recommend data management policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure effective and consistent data management operations
Administer production, staging and development environments
Work with A&A Teams to maintain security requirements for operation of systems
Maintain up to date documentation of designs/configurations, ensuring team members have continuity of recurring tasks
Required Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Minimum of 8 years related experience
Strong experience in PostgreSQL, Linux/Unix scripting
Demonstrated experience/knowledge working in a DevOps environment
Understanding of Python, Bash, and Shell scripting
Active TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a CI poly
