The Principal Engineer is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.


**Responsibilities** :

Develop high quality design and code artifacts that meet the specifications and software that is scalable, secure and reliable

Engage in innovative problem-solving activities, requiring conceptual thinking and participate in creating out of the box solutions with prototypes, pilots and technical proof of concepts.

Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures, patterns and concepts to identify and define necessary system enhancements and quality improvements.

Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements

Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards

Work with other technical program managers to plan delivery, identify risks and adherence to business goals/objectives

Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint

Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation

Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals

Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions

Manage program and project teams for optimal delivery, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


**Qualifications:**


+ Qualifications: 6+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development and/or Principal Engineer role Proficiency in Java/JEE, Web-oriented architecture (WOA), Object Oriented technologies; Spring boot framework, Swagger, PCF, Euraka, ConfigServer, OpenShift, JWT,HTML5/CSS3/XML, REST Micro services, REST/JSON services Understanding of service authorization concepts including OAUTH 2.0, SAML etc. Working knowledge of JavaScript libraries, frameworks and Single Page designs, Angular, etc. Demonstrated experience with Application Servers (Tomcat, IBM WebSphere or JBoss) and Web Servers (IBM IHS, Nginx) Knowledge of relational and No-SQL databases, Unit testing, Test-driven Development etc. Understanding of Cloud based platforms and CICD frameworks Jenkins, RLM and Harness are preferred. Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms & distributed systems. Well versed with testing tools including Postman, SOAP UI. Strong team player with excellent partnership, cross-collaboration and leadership skills. Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate Creative and passionate, driven by a desire for innovation


**Education:**


+ Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience

+ Masters degree preferred
