Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a **Principal/Sr Principal Manufacturing Engineer** for the inertial measurement system (IMU) for the Sentinel (GBSD) program located in **Salt Lake City, Utah** .

**Roles and Responsibilities:**

+ Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
+ Develop and/or assist in the design of tooling and fixturing.
+ Incorporates inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
+ Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
+ Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
+ Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
+ Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations and product requirements.
+ Collaborate with design engineering to enhance and achieve producible designs.
+ Support and train manufacturing operators.
+ Determine the requirements and support the procurement of tooling and process equipment.
+ Create process flow maps and process routers.
+ Identify process failure modes and effects analysis (FMECA), follow root cause and corrective action (RCCA) processes, assist in failure review boards (FRB) and closed loop failure reporting and corrective actions (FRACAS).
+ Develop manufacturing process maturity using manufacturing readiness assessments.

**Principal Manufacturing Engineer** **Basic Qualification:**

+ 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters / STEM related field
+ US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.)
+ Ability to follow detailed instructions and comply with procedures.
+ Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, process specifications, part lists and other technical documents.
+ Ability to design assembly or test tooling and fixturing using Solid Works or Siemens NX.
+ Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture.

**Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer** **Basic Qualification:**

+ 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters / STEM related field
+ US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.)
+ Proven experience following detailed instructions and comply with procedures.
+ Proven experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, process specifications, part lists and other technical documents.
+ Experience in designing assembly or test tooling and fixturing using Solid Works or Siemens NX.
+ Able to work independently and without constant supervision
+ Able to work in a creative environment where requirements and clear path direction may not be available.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience using Siemens NX 3D modeling system.
+ Experience developing and documenting assembly processes and procedures.
+ Experience working in a highly regulated industry with strict customer/process requirements.
+ Experience working with configuration-controlled documents.
+ SAP experience or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
+ Ability to function as self-starter and demonstrate ownership of assignments and responsibilities.
+ Ability to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Sound understanding of engineering fundamentals.
+ Working within a AS9100 manufacturing environment.
+ DoD secret clearance.

Salary Range: $79,700.00 - $119,500.00Salary Range 2: $98,700.00 - $148,100.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
