**What youll achieve**


As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems, software/firmware for Dell server and storage products that powers the world's next generation infrastructure needs and our customer's digital journey.


**You will:**


**Be responsible for the design and development of BIOS using a range of applicable technologies (e.g., C programming language, compilers, assemblers, debuggers, ITP's, Scopes, Logic Analyzers and other tools) and state-of-the-art software engineering methodologies.**


**Design, development, debugging, and testing of BIOS software / UEFI firmware for complex systems.**


**Work closely with a team of software engineers to deliver a high quality BIOS for use in Dell's server product line.**


**Participate in product development in all stages from planning and design to development and testing.**


**Apply modern software best practices to deliver firmware that scales across our server and storage portfolio powering the world's next generation digital infrastructure.**

**Essential Requirements**


**Strong knowledge of PC architecture, UEFI BIOS development, AMD/Intel processor architecture, chipset programming, industry standards that affect BIOS, and busses common to PCs.**


**Expertise in C programming and modular software architecture.**


**Experience in coding and guiding others to code flexible and scalable software for complex systems.**


**Ability to use common software and hardware debugging tools.**


**Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 8 years of industry experience.**
