Privacy Incident Investigation Associate

Responsibilities

The Privacy Incident Investigation Associate role includes all activities necessary to support the Privacy Incident Program for multiple lines of business including Consumer and Community Banking, Corporate Functions, Asset Management, and Wealth Management. The associate will work with minimal direction to resolve privacy incidents and related issues within regulatory Service Levels. This position includes regulatory decision making, in-depth knowledge of state, federal, and ex-USA jurisdictional privacy breach laws, project/enhancement management to the PIM program and regular interactions with all levels of management within JPMorgan Chase.

  • Document privacy events within system of record (GLASS)

  • Ensure accurate and meaningful updates are recorded in a timely manner to capture relevant information related to privacy events

  • Interact with internal partners to understand, collect evidence, and resolve privacy events

  • Expert knowledge of current and emerging privacy breach laws, both domestic and abroad

  • Provide guidance and consultation to the lines of business to contain privacy events and remediate customers and processes

  • Create Breach Notifications to customers when privacy breach laws are triggered

  • Develop and maintain key contacts and working relationships with various areas within the Firm and with vendors

  • Interact with key stakeholders such as Global Data Risk Management, Privacy Legal, Privacy Compliance, Global Security, Fraud Units and LOB Privacy Champions

  • Analyze privacy data and provide meaningful insights to key stakeholders and interested parties including root cause analysis and emerging trends

  • Use thematic analysis to identify process and control gaps in both Sub-LOB and PIM operations – partnering with key stakeholders lending leadership and project management to drive stronger customer data protections

  • Ensure timely escalation of key risks and issues to management and interested stakeholders

  • Maintain strong controls environment by aiding in daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations and following documented procedures

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred

  • 4-6 years of experience in Financial Industry

  • Must possess intermediate PC skills with emphasis on the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel and Power Point

  • Experience in a research or investigative environment such as fraud or escalations would be highly desired

  • Highly developed analytical skills and excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both orally and written

  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment to make decisions and strong understanding of the business to anticipate LOB needs and effectively exceed them

  • Can work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment

  • Must possess the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities and projects effectively

  • Quality focused work ethic and strong controls mind-set

  • Strategic thinking and planning skills and abilities to drive innovation

  • Prior experience in handling escalated issues preferred
