Arcadis is hiring a Project Manager to support our key East Coast transit accounts, and to help expand our growing business in the field of New Fare Payment Systems (NFPS) and Mobility as a Service (MaaS).

Role description:

Successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience working in progressively responsible positions including product development, systems integration, and management of rail transportation projects. Position requires knowledge of NFPS, Integrated Service Information and Management (ISIM), Digital Bus Radio System (BRS), and Comm (Communications and Signal) with expert level knowledge in at least one of these transit technology projects. Candidate would preferably possess experience with wireless network design, network engineering, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and embedded control systems and systems engineering. Other beneficial experience includes project management for transit infrastructure projects in rail, light rail and subway that covers track, switches and controls, traction power, stations, tunnels and bus operations. Ideal candidate will have familiarity with the transit industry in the U.S. or internationally, and experience with testing, commissioning and validation requirements of major technology projects for MTA/NYCT, AMTRAK, PATH, NJ Transit, MBTA or other transit agencies.

Role accountabilities:

  • Provide oversight of programs specifically focused on or with significant components of NFPS, ISIM, and Comm.

  • Analyze monthly contractor CPM schedule updates; develop progress payments based on schedule updates; assist with recovery schedules.

  • Develop, manage, monitor, and report risks to project cost and schedule.

  • Assume the Project Management role as the client's advisor when needed.

  • Perform capital planning and financial reporting for programs and projects.

  • Develop design and manufacturing contracts.

  • Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written. Possess ability to independently write reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with the client and client's consultants and vendors.

  • Develop spreadsheets and charts in Microsoft Excel, reports in Microsoft Word, and presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Develop and make presentations to groups to include clients and public meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or related fields.

  • 15+ years of experience working in progressively responsible positions including product development, systems integration, and management of rail transportation projects.

  • Hands-on fare payment system experience on transit projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer licensed in NY and/or NJ desired, but not required.

  • Certifications desired, but not required to include CCM, PMP, CCE, CCC, or PSP.

  • Experience with wireless network design, network engineering, PLC and embedded control systems, systems engineering.

  • Experience or working knowledge of Mobility as a Service (Maas).
