Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Lab Technician to join our Pharmachem Laboratories business at our Totowa Laboratory in NJ. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Quality function. This position will report to Quality Laboratory Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Follow and comply with all company safety protocols and procedures while working in a safe manner

• Handle and run samples for Microbiology, Wet Chemistry, ICP-MS, HPLC, and/or GCMS analyses in accordance with documented test method / SOP

• Maintain clear and accurate laboratory test data

• Monitors lab equipment and supplies. Reports and documents equipment operations, required maintenance, calibrations, and/or repairs. Able to perform limited lab equipment troubleshooting

• Additional duties may be assigned, and functions may be modified according to business necessity

• Must be willing to cross train in other functional areas of the laboratory and ability to perform different task in different field

• Work schedule will include weekends and holidays as required by the needs of the business

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

• Associates Degree or equivalent required; Bachelors Degree preferred with Biology or Chemistry

• 5+ years of experience in a laboratory setting (Quality Control laboratory preferred)

• Proficient in laboratory procedures and systems, documentation procedures, equipment operations, and calibrations

• Capable and willing to cross train in other functional areas

• Experience with ICP-MS, GCMS, Microbiology and HPLC

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

• Experience in regulated environment (FDA, USDA, EPA)

• Experience with LIMS and ERP systems strongly preferred.

• BA/BS degree Technical or Science related field strongly preferred
