Key Responsibilities:

·       Provide lasers and optics support to a team of R&D scientists developing both commercial and research systems for quantum computing

·       Install, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial laser systems (training provided)

·       Integrate complex, high precision optical sub-assemblies into higher level systems and maintain them

·       Trouble shoot as well as conduct failure analysis of electro-optical-mechanical systems to improve process and design

·       Collect and analyze data to improve subsystem robustness and key performance parameters

·       Develop laser and electro-optical systems to support future quantum computers

·       You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Scientists to deliver state-of-the-art optics solutions.



YOU MUST HAVE:

·       Ph.D. completed prior to start

·       5+ years (degree-inclusive) experience using & maintaining laser systems, including diode and/or Ti:Sapph lasers

·       5+ years (degree-inclusive) experience with free-space optical system alignment and assembly

·       5+ years (degree-inclusive) experience using and maintaining fiber optic components

·       Applicants for employment for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with  Quantinuum. (i.e., H-1-B Visa, F-1 Visa (OPT), TN Visa or any other non-immigrant status)     

WE VALUE:

·       Ph.D. in Optics, Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, or related field preferred

Broad understanding of optical principles and practices and intimate knowledge and experience applying this knowledge to projects

·       Experience characterizing, stabilizing, and servoing diode, Ti:Sapphire, and/or fiber lasers

·       Working knowledge of Python for system control, system testing, and data analysis

·       Experience with cryogenics and ultra-high vacuum systems

·       Experience with quantum information processing and/or quantum computing

·       Experience with engineering change documentation; ability to work from assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, sketches and other written, visual and oral instructions
