Radio Communications Systems Engineer
Analyze, design, and install network systems ranging from LAN/WAN switch/firewall ranging from 900Mhz Radios to cellular LTE modems
Optimize and enhance the performance of the existing wireless network
Prepare and analyze radio path studies and coverage maps
Knowledgeable with Palo Alto/Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco Switches and Routers
Assist in deploying/managing NMS (network management system), Terminal Access, IP Address Management, etc
Create new and maintain existing network documentation utilizing Visio
Document work progress via ticketing system
Develop top-level network performance metrics
Supports field communications technicians in multiple geographical areas
Ensure communications installations are on schedule with construction
Troubleshoot and resolve network-related incidents and performance issues
Assist with managing IP providers
Assist in managing a wide variety of wireless network infrastructure and Radios. Cisco, Aprisa RF, GE MDS, etc
Ensure wireless telecommunications network complies with industry and FCC standards and regulations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
PE registration
CWNA Certified Wireless Network Administrator preferred
5+ years' experience in deploying networking technologies
Strong network layer 3 experience
Familiarity with Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls
Cisco, GE MDS and Aprisa Radios
Experience working with high availability and industrial networks
Experience with SolarWinds ORION (or another NMS)
Familiarity with dynamic routing solutions
Packet capture, Wireshark experience
Previous experience with SCADA technologies is a plus
Experience with Outdoor Wireless Systems Cellular LTE, 2.4ghz, 5ghz, and 900mhz
Repeater systems, antenna/tower heights, antenna types and gain
Other network and/or Microsoft certifications are a plus
Exercise excellent client communications skills (written and verbal)
