Be part of a team responsible for providing technical expertise and knowledge to new product development and technology projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve research, processes, products, and technologies for Honeywell€™s Spectra Fiber business. You will lead development efforts for processing and formulation of polymer fibers, coatings, and related breakthrough programs as you develop the next generation of high-performance products within Spectra€™s fiber and ballistics composite portfolio, helping Honeywell maintain its technology advantage over the competition.

Key Responsibilities

Â· Lead new fiber/composite product development projects (lab and pilot scale)

Â· Contribute to intellectual property developments for high performance fiber/polymer processes used in ballistic/medical applications.

Â· Interact with customers on product application development

Â· Design of Experiment (DOE) development and execution

Â· Project management and intellectual property research

Â· Design analysis and prototyping

Â· Strong verbal and written communication skills

Â· Research and Development on ultrafine fibers for medical applications, sustainability, and chemical formulations.

YOU MUST HAVE

Â· PhD in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or similar discipline.

Â· 10+ years of industry experience in fiber, polymer, and/or process/product development applications that require chemical formulations such as coatings and process auxiliaries.

WE VALUE

Â· Hands on experience with UHMWPE fiber, chemical formulations (coatings, process auxiliaries), or energy absorbing composites

Â· Knowledge of polymer and/or fiber processing design.

Â· Experience with armor end article fabrication, textiles, medical devices, and/or ballistic testing.

Â· Significant experience working in cross-functional teams to develop new products and technology in highly regulated environments.

Â· Experience in design of experiments, product design, and customer applications support.

Â· Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills €“ ability to lead, motivate, develop, and mentor others.

Â· Self-starter, with the ability to analyze and solve complex problems.

Â· Individuals who are able to work without guidance or supervision and have demonstrated knowledge of engineering techniques to optimize design processes

Â· Track record of successful contributions to products/projects in a matrix organization.
