About the company:


+ A growing biotech lab, looking for a Scientist who will work within their Assay Development Program. The role involves using RNA aptamer technology to generate novel fluorescent sensors against hard to assay targets in vitro and in cells.

+ Focused on developing and commercializing RNA-based research tools to help accelerate biological research and drug discovery.


Responsibilities:


+ Successful candidate will characterize and optimize aptamer-based sensors to develop new high-throughput assays and applications from concept to commercialization.

+ Responsible for proposing and implementing methods to streamline and enhance the discovery process. Candidate will be expected to write proposals and present results in team meeting and at conferences.


Required qualifications:


+ Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.

+ 3+ years of hands-on research experience in nucleic acid biochemistry and RNA biology.

+ Track record of productivity in terms of peer-review publications, patents, and talks.


Preferred qualifications:


+ Experience in RNA thermodynamics, RNA-protein interactions, RNA metabolism and/or nucleic acid sensor development. Previous experience with assay development and validation, high-throughput drug screening, and high-throughput experimental designs.

+ Proficiency with RNA structural analyses and/or in tools to optimize RNA structures or expressions.

+ mRNA production, cell-based fluorescence imaging, bioinformatics/machine learning, and standard protein and molecular biology techniques.
