If you have a passion for disease research and can handle human blood and tissue samples, this internationally recognized team is waiting for you!

Throughout the Division, we have many enriching and educational opportunities for our faculty and trainees. We are proud to also host national and international programs specializing in tropical medicine and STD/HIV prevention.

We use laboratory techniques such as: cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA, and ELISpot assays. We also use PRISM software along with Canvas and FlowJo. Our research involves studying vaccine-specific immunity in humans.

Some weekend or off-hours work expected.

General Responsibilities

As directed:

  • To independently set up and perform experiments and procedures in support of lab goals.

  • To collect, enter, summarize, and analyze data.

  • To monitor results, detect and report unusual outcomes and suggest modifications.

  • To develop and improve techniques for the lab.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Contributes to planning/design of studies.

  2. May assist in planning long or short-term goals/fiscal management.

  3. Performs maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.

  4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary   $32,800.00 - $59,800.00 annually

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field

  • OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience

  • OR Associate's degree in a related field and four (4) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

  • Laboratory experience in cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA, and ELISpot assays.

  • Knowledge of PRISM, CANVAS, and FlowJo software.

  • Experience working with human specimens (blood and tissue processing)

  • Previous work with IRB protocol renewal/development

  • Working knowledge of flow cytometry and histology

  • Comfortable analyzing experimental data and planning experimental designs.
