The Opportunity

Joining a Fin Ops team & reporting directly to Director of Financial Operations, the Finance Operations Manager will ensure that Samsung makes sound strategic decisions based on analysis and critical thinking, backed up by data. This position will be focused on Brand sales and work cross functionally and closely with sales management to track business metrics and develop financial processes for the Smart TV Ad business. He/she will work closely across Sales, Ad Operations, Headquarters, subsidiary Finance Teams, Engineering and Product to ensure a full end-to-end financial support on all aspects of the business. This position is located in NYC and may require occasional domestic & international travel.
We are looking for a confident individual with expertise in sales finance who understands the importance of delivering excellent process, rigor and assisting in the acceleration of our sales revenue. Role and Responsibilities


  • Provide management with clear insights into drivers of the business and financial performance and risk; assess business/market opportunities and inform/recommend prioritization decisions

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasting and regular reporting processes. Ensure accuracy and predictability of results and key metrics

  • Oversee creation and distribution of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales finance reporting

  • Analyze teams operating results throughout the year and compare to monthly forecast and yearly plan, interpret data and presents results to management

  • Analyze & model business scenarios, in order to solve problems and improve executive decision-making.

  • Develop rate cards, analyze product & package pricing. Work closely with Yield Management

  • Help set budgets & quotas for the salesforce; manage achievement process to determine salesforce compensation

  • Work across product, ops, sales, and strategy to consult on financial planning, reporting and decision support for the entire range of business activities related to Smart TV advertising

  • Manage P&L and expenses related to the ongoing Smart TV advertising business including vendor and support agreements

  • Work directly with Sales Executives for strategic upfront pricing for large advertisers

  • Work with thirds party vendors and partners to negotiate and secure pricing that is necessary for our business

  • Billing and reconciliation processes


Skills and Qualifications


  • 5+ years of business experience; some part of time in financial function in technology of digital media industry

  • Must be task driven & have the ability to produce and hit key deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Deep understanding of the digital advertising space, with knowledge of programmatic landscape, Connected TV & upcoming technologies, industry trends, and major players

  • Ability to manage and work effectively within cross-functional and matrix relationships

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Project management experience a plus


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree, in Business, Finance or Accounting

  • Experience working in a like role or in a finance team

  • Experience working in media & technology company; preferably digital media business

  • Proficient in Korean language (speaking required; reading a plus)

  • Leadership presence: Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

  • Attention to detail, ability to multitask and strong organizational skills required


Physical/Mental Demands

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 80% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods. Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress, which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PCs, printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
