Five Rivers Services (FRS), an Akima Company, provides full-spectrum communications, information technology (IT), network operations, video teleconferencing (VTC), audiovisual, multimedia, and command, control, communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) services and solutions to Department of Defense, Federal Government agencies, and the commercial sector. Currently, FRS operates in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Djibouti, and several continental U.S. locations.
Job Summary:
The Satellite Operations Technician executes actions necessary to conduct satellite operations and maintenance required to sustain the operability of communications-electronics equipment located at the Remote Tracking Stations (RTS).
Responsibilities:
Configures, operates and maintains assigned systems during satellite support, test, and maintenance activities.
Initiates, directs and verifies completion of all operational events during the acquisition, tracking and commanding functions of each operational support.
Performs SCR duties as required.
Maintains cognizance of station equipment status.
Performs COMSEC duties as required.
Assists with repairs and alignment of equipment IAW TOs/TMs or commercial manuals.
Assists with Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) activities.
Maintains vehicle folders.
Prepares daily activity log entries in appropriate electronic systems.
Performs all required systems administration on mission related equipment.
May assist in providing on-the-job training to trainees as assigned or directed.
Performs other collateral duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active Secret security clearance, or higher.
Associate Degree in Electronics, or equivalent experience.
Must be able to climb high ladders, work on elevated platforms and antennas.
Must be able to perform strenuous physical work to include: walking, lifting, pulling loads, bending, kneeling, sitting and reaching overhead.
Must possess strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to read, write and clearly speak English.
Must be familiar with the use of and be able to operate electronic test equipment to include multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, signal generators, power meters, and data analyzers.
Position may require additional government certifications, as necessary.
You must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working with LINUX and COMSEC is preferred.
Some IT Experience preferred.
SATCOM Preferred.
Experience interfacing with military personnel and government customers is preferred.
