The laboratory of Dr. Troy Randall is seeking a Scientist I to join the fast growing research of the comprehensive flow cytometry laboratory to oversee its core functions. The lab is expecting a high volume of research objectives and is need of a senior level researcher to oversee lab directives and junior personnel. The laboratory integrates concepts and techniques concerning molecular biology reactions/library preparations and instrument operation and analysis. This includes expertise and a working knowledge of the 10x Chromium, Fluidigm, and Rhapsody instruments.
The Scientist I is expected to plan, coordinate, design, and develop research protocols in molecular biology assay and maintain the lab's objective to improve flow equipment and applications. The position will also develop courses and tutorials to raise awareness of flow applications. This multiscale approach enables us to enhance the research of the Rheumatic Disease Core which is involves the diagnosis and treatment of patients with arthritis and musculoskeletal diseases.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Plans, coordinates and conducts scientific research requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard scientific techniques. Writes grant applications, carries projects to completion and supervises/trains employees and students.
Designs, performs and/or oversees experiments and data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control and protocol compliance.
Collects, analyzes and interprets data; prepares statistical and narrative reports and/or graphs.
Supervises and/or performs equipment maintenance, operations and quality control procedures.
Performs and/or oversees new research procedures.
Serves as principal investigator on sub-projects of complexities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $63,125.00 – 103,700.00 annually
Qualifications

Requirements
Doctor of Philosophy, D.V.M. or M.D. degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
OR M.D. and Master's degree.
OR Master's degree and four (4) years of related experience
OR Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of related experience
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences
Degree in Microbiology, Biology or related scientific degrees
Experience in:
Hashtagging
PCR
Cell counting/viability
Microbiology assays
Flow Cytometry and equipment troubleshooting
Training/supervising junior personnel
Knowledge of Rheumatic Disease
