Job Description
The Data Solutions organization within the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB)'s Securities Services group is a newly formed business offering best-in-class data solutions for our institutional clients.
The cloud solution architect is responsible for designing and implementing patterns for data management and distribution in the cloud.
Responsibilities:
Working with product and technology teams understand the data management system including data acquisition and distribution scenarios.
Design highly scalable, available and maintainable patterns for moving data across the systems
Strong focus on security patterns, keep up-to date with security and proactively identify, diagnose, and solve complex security issues
Deep knowledge of system observability patterns with comprehensive designs, and being the advocate for the creation of software and systems to increase observability, product reliability and organizational efficiency
Able to troubleshoot complicated, cross platform issues handling OS, Networking, Database in a cloud-based environments and handle live production incidents, debug/troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, follow and implement SRE best practices
Able to conduct system analysis, configuration management and develops improvements for system software performance, availability and reliability
Help build site reliability engineering culture across the group
Adopt œAutomation-first approach
Work closely with software engineers and testers to ensure the system is responding properly to non-functional requirements such as performance, security, and availability
Qualifications/Experience:
10+ years™ experience in building and managing systems in data management domain
Deep and broad experience in application design using cloud services preferably AWS
Hands in experience operating applications which are mission critical and support ultra high throughput at low latencies
Deep and broad experience of data integration, data movement and databases
Deep understanding of data structures, storage, scale and access patterns
Hands-on experience in various programming languages mainly Python and other automation scripting languages
Working knowledge of cloud automation toolset Terraform, CloudFormation etc.,
Hands on experience with observability tooling such as Datadog
Experience in cloud based ETL tools
Experience in data management systems like Snowflake and/or DataBricks is a plus
Hands-on experience with various databases mainly on the resiliency patterns
Strong technical knowledge of financial services data including Fixed Income, Equity, OTC Derivatives asset classes. Private Company data experience is advantageous but not a pre-requisite.
Ability to manage a team of engineers to deliver data solutions
Experience in articulating system architectures and design patterns
Ability to drive an agenda, gain consensus and facilitate decision making across virtual and multi-functional, cross-regional teams
A proven track record of strategic delivery, effectively resolving challenges to ensure timely delivery and achieve business benefits
