Job Description:
GDIT is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support complex scalable data platforms that provide business intelligence, analytics and data products to the mission. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will be expected to provide an array of skills within the data engineering discipline
This position will require engineering expertise within a multi-faceted team, where the individual is willing to provide a myriad of taskings to support the mission and be willing to learn new technology and methodologies as the program evolves
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
TS/SCI with polygraph
8+ years of experience with a BA/BS (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Engineering background or a related technical discipline
Minimum 5 years of related software/database development experience
StrongSQL query knowledge
Elasticsearch development and/or administration experience
Data analytics skills, to include detailed data analysis and metric generation
Team focused, willing to develop and implement solutions in a dispersed team environment
Available for off-hours deployments and system maintenance
Candidate should have at least 2 of the desired skills below
Experience with data visualization and data validation routines
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer
On the job experience providing Linux based database administration
Operations, to include Git/Jenkins/Rundeck/Jira/Confluence
Ability to write short python/java/bash scripts
AWS/C2S solutions
Ability to write technical documentation for security (ATO), architecture, and implementation guides
Pentaho or other Extract Transformation & Load (ETL) applications
