The Senior Director, Value & Access Marketing will drive all strategic/tactical planning and execution for in-line and future portfolio related to payer, hospital, and other channel customers. This leader will partner across key commercial functions (ex. brand teams, medical affairs, sales, operations, etc.) to shape/enhance Shionogis approach to access channel customers.
This Senior Director, Value & Access Marketing will also be accountable for achieving Shionogi sales and product access objectives across key access segments, and will represent a growing Shionogi portfolio, while providing key access insights into business development and pipeline initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Spearhead strategic insights and investments across Market Access to ensure Shionogi products and pipeline assets are positioned within key payer channels to support brand objectives.
Oversee development and evolution of brands key payer messages based on product lifecycle, RWE and clinical data plans, and evolution of competitive landscape.
Partner with field Market Access, Sales and Brand teams to develop and implement national and POA meeting payer content for Sales & Market Access teams.
Create and obtain approval for all branded and disease state communications to field teams.
Lead the annual business plan development and partner with Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure access levers are driven into the commercial approach and pull-through.
Quarterback the development and evolution of customer segmentation informing key account prioritization, activities, and resource allocation.
Collaborate closely with Pricing & Contracting to ensure all initiatives are aligned to brand performance objectives.
Responsible for providing brand strategy and execution input into co-pay & affordability programs and channel strategies.
Work with Commercial Operations teams to create relevant channel analytics platform and dashboards to monitor/report performance and assess return on investment for key programs & pull-through.
Partner with Global Market Access, Medical Affairs and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) to lead Value and Disease Burden Platform and align on execution strategies and priorities.
Provide critical input into all future roles that will shape and mold the future of Shionogis engagement across all Market Access external customers.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree is required; MBA preferred.
12+ years of biotech/pharma of Market Access experience.
Prior leadership roles in pricing, contracting and reimbursement strategy, account management & sales.
In-depth knowledge of health care pricing, contracting and reimbursement practices and regulatory requirements.
Previous experience with both specialty outpatient and inpatient administered drugs.
Experience with strong understanding of hospital, non-hospital/alternate site facilities, and contracting implications and opportunities across all sites of care.
Knowledge of US payer systems, evolving trends in health care including value-based purchasing, population health management, evidence-based medicine, and quality measures as they relate to pricing and contracting strategy and execution.
Knowledge/understanding of managed care trends, pricing, healthcare reimbursement, managed care customers and the distribution channels relevant to pharmaceutical/biotechnology organizations.
Familiarity with current legal and regulatory landscape pertinent to the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
Experience working at a US payer (Insurance company or Pharmacy Benefit Manager) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, including knowledge of various source data, with the ability to research complex issues and perform qualitative and quantitative analyses.
Ability to work in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment including managing multiple projects with on time and budget completion.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and process complex information and summarize it concisely in writing and/or verbally in a professional manner.
Strong leadership skills to work across functions with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to gain consensus and drive results.
Previous experience in other functions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry is strongly preferred, e.g., marketing, field sales, field account management, health economics, government affairs, etc.
Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding qualitative, as well as any relevant quantitative, targets and goals.
Ability to manage multiple and diverse levels of internal/external stakeholders; demonstrated ability to manage and pivot between products, customer segments and high stakeholder layers quickly, effectively, and successfully.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to gather, understand, evaluate information from various sources.
Well-developed project management/organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities; proactive, results-oriented willingness to drive changes across the organization while working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment, focusing energy in the right places to work efficiently.
Customer-focused and the ability to identify and meet the expectations and requirements of internal and/or external customers.
Travel up to 25%.
