JOB POSITION:       Senior Engineer

LOCATION:             7000 Target Parkway North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445

DUTIES:                    Build and operate the software that enables automation at various stages within employer’s warehousing facilities to enable product movement to retail stores and retail guest order fulfillment; develop software that leverages robotics, IoT (Internet of Things), messaging frameworks and cutting-edge elastic computing to move products within the warehouse; build event-based microservices that breakdown the work into the smallest components to enable extreme flexibility; build innovative and well-designed software and also be a part of groundbreaking technological innovation, strategic thinking and visionary goals; serve as a significant code contributor; own and be accountable for work;  drive best practices and ensure the development of high-quality code; mentor team members and help build a team of high caliber software development engineers; drive resolution of technology roadblocks including code, infrastructure, build and deployment; advocate for technologies, frameworks, design patterns, processes and guiding values of the domain architecture; and ensure all code adheres to all development & security standards. REQUIREMENTS:  This position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and at least five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in application development (any title) performing analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation using Java, MongoDB, Git, Groovy, Spring, Spring JDBC, REST, jQuery, Handlebars, GSON, JSON, EhCache, Oracle, Maven, UML, and at least two (2) years of experience with Elasticsearch, Swagger, Spring Batch, Jackson, and Kubernetes. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.
