+ Executing (proposing, negotiating, planning, leading and reporting out) studies to assist power plant customers in meeting evolving regulatory standards for steady-state performance, dynamic performance and modeling.
+ Lead contracts to ensure technical, schedule and cost objectives are met; actively participate in identifying and cultivating new customers and business opportunities; lead preparation of proposals, project creation/assignment, billing and closing; and make customer presentations.
+ Support domestic and global projects across regions depending on overall market needs, and communicate customer needs and values back to GE to support marketing initiatives.
+ Support GE project(s) with power systems engineering expertise; including design and equipment specification studies, and commissioning support.
+ Effectively communicate results to both internal and external executives by preparing written detailed and summary reports and making presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and customer value propositions.
+ Enhance industry knowledge and present technical content in regional forums and conferences; serve as a thought leader in industry activities.
+ Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are prized.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Technical field from an accredited university or college
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical or electric power engineering, conventional and/or renewable power plant design and operation.
**Eligibility Requirements**
+ Willingness to travel to support project work (up to 10%) domestic and internationally.
**Desired Characteristics**
+ Bachelors degree in electrical engineering , electric power engineering or mechanical engineering.
+ Advanced degree in electrical engineering, electric power engineering, or related field of study from an accredited university or college.
+ Experience performing steady state and dynamic analysis using large data base simulation tools like Siemens PSS/E, DigSilent PowerFactory, GE PSLF, and/or performing transient analysis using simulation tools like ATP/EMTP, PSCAD/EMTDC and EMTP-RV.
+ Experience with the development, testing and tuning of user-defined dynamic models in simulation tools (PSS/E, PSLF, Power Factory, ATP/EMTP, PSCAD/EMTDC, and/or EMTP-RV).
+ Experience with the use and application of common programming languages (e.g. Python, FORTRAN, C, C++ MATLAB).
+ Experience with development of block diagrams in frequency domain (to represent conventional and/or renewable power plant equipment), and creation of equivalent FORTRAN or FLECS code for use in Siemens PSS/E software.
+ Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio compiler for creation of library (.lib), dynamic link (.dll), dynamic file (.dyr) and documentation (application guide, instructions, etc.) for user-defined models in Siemens PSS/E software.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills (e.g. ability to effectively communicate with all levels of GE and customer/plant staff).
+ Experience with turbine control and/or excitation system design.
+ Track record of industry reputation and recognition.
+ Strong knowledge of utility transmission planning practices, grid code compliance and regulatory standards for power system performance.
+ Strong knowledge of industry standards (e.g. IEEE 421.5) for power plant equipment modeling.
+ Advanced experience in electromagnetic transient simulation tools like ATP/EMTP, PSCAD/EMTDC and EMTP-RV.
+ Advanced experience with dynamic and time-domain simulation tools (e.g. FORTRAN programming of user-written black box models in PSCAD, use of MATLAB or Python scripting to automate execution and analysis of multiple simulations).
+ Demonstrated application of complex mathematics and engineering to real-world electric power system problems.
+ Solid understanding of controls concepts for grid-interactive power systems equipment and controls, e.g.: automatic voltage regulators, and power system stabilizers.
