**Job Purpose / Context:**
Citis FXLM technology group supports the front office technology operations of one of the worlds largest capital market businesses. Our talented technology group is looking for a hands-on, java development Lead to join our Toronto based server side development team on our Price Distribution and Deal Acceptance Technology Team.
The Price Distribution and Deal Acceptance Technology Team is one of the most exciting and fast-paced teams within FXLM Technology and is responsible for delivering the electronic Trading technology platform for the eFX business. The team are directly integrated with the Trading Desk and Quants, and deliver technology covering the major liquid instruments such as FX Spot, Precious Metals and NDF. The teams responsibilities extend to all aspects of the electronic trading domain, including market connectivity, market data distribution and Co-Lo Infrastructure. The Price Distribution and Deal Acceptance platform is used by a wide range of clients such as external clients, ECNs, internal Spot desks, Internal Options desks, and our own Single Dealer trading platform (Velocity).
**Job Responsibilities / Role:**
+ Senior development Lead role on a critical application
+ Strong Technical Design aptitude
+ Excellent understanding of existing an upcoming technologies
+ Requirements capture, analysis and design on the ecommerce platform
+ Testing and UA coordination
+ Close interaction with Traders and Quants to understand new requirements for the Price Distribution and Deal Acceptance platform
+ Troubleshoot performance and scalability issues
+ Third line support of the platform during trading hours
+ Close interaction with the business product manager and other internal business users covering FX trading
**Job Opportunities:**

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelors degree Computer Science/Engineering or related field
**Total and Relevant Experience:**
+ Total technical experience requirements are 8+ Yrs.
+ Server-side development
**Technical Skills Required:**
+ Very strong core Java
+ Knowledge of low latency technologies and memory efficiency methods
+ FIX Protocol
+ Spring
+ Middleware technologies (Tibco EMS, RV, Solace)
+ Functional test utilities such as Fitnesse
+ Multi-threading
+ Solid understanding of OO principles
+ Unix/Linux experience
**Non Technical Skills Required:**
+ Excellent communication skills (there is a requirement to be trader and sales facing)
+ Passion for technology, especially Java
+ Self-motivated and a desire to progress your career
+ Flexible and adaptive, team player
+ Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize work and well organized
+ Comfortable in presenting suggestions for change and or improving work flow
+ Ability to pick up new concepts and apply the knowledge.
+ Understanding of financial concepts
**Additional Information / Preferences:**
+ Knowledge of FX is desirable
+ Experience of working with large financial software systems
+ Knowledge of etrading or ecommerce applications is desirable
The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
+ Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
+ Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
+ Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
+ Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
+ Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
+ Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
**Qualifications:**
+ 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
+ Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
+ Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
+ Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
+ Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
+ Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
**Education:**
+ Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience
+ Masters degree preferred
