Northern Trust - Digital Shared Services teams provide diverse set of capabilities to enable Northern Trust Application teams and Business Partners in the areas of Application Architecture, Development Accelerators, Shared Services API for common digital functions and Digital Collaboration
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Lead Engineer on the Digital Shared Services team, you will be an integral part of one of our nimble and agile cross-functional teams innovating Software development by accelerating application delivery and developer experience. As a Lead Engineer, you will:
Design and develop CLIs, Reusable Components and other frameworks for UI Applications running on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (Tanzu Application Service) and or Microsoft Azure.
Build and support Development Accelerators that integrate Application development best practices and patterns by working closely with Northern Trust Developer community.
Ensure that the applications delivered are aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and patterns along with meeting non-functional requirements.
Provide guidance and mentor Application developers in Digital Shared Services team and other teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required. Seasoned expert with technical and business knowledge and functional expertise that has been developed over several years. Experience in systems analysis and application program development. Experience with project feasibility, definition requirements, design and/or project leadership. Experience with various technical programming languages, and phase report studies is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
In-depth knowledge of the system development life cycle, the client area's functions and systems, and applications program development technological alternatives
Analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills, and the ability to work effectively with client and IT management and staff.
Highly flexible and adaptable to change.

WHO YOU ARE
As a Lead Engineer you are well versed in design, development, and management of modern API. You stay on the top of current technology trends as a thought leader. You are a team player with a can do attitude. Furthermore:
You have a College or University degree in Computer Science and/or relevant proven work experience
You are proficient in Modern Application Architecture and Agile delivery in one or more of the following areas
React based Single Page Applications on Private or Public Cloud Platforms
Creation of custom Developer tooling such as CLIs for delivering Application Starters
Customization of React Toolchain components like Babel, WebPack
Module Federation and Micro Front End Architectures
You have experience in one of the following
Pivotal Cloud Foundry (Tanzu Application Service) or Public Cloud
Kubernetes
You have experience in DevOps and building Pipelines
You have strong understanding of nonfunctional requirements and SRE principles
You have analytical/problem-solving skills, leadership/organizational skills along with ability to operate in dynamic environment.
You have ability to develop strong relationships with stake holders and mentor team members
