Senior Quantitative Modeler, Wholesale Credit Reserves

The Credit and Obligor Risk Analytics (CORA) group within Citis Risk Modeling and Analytics organization is seeking an experienced quantitative model developer/analyst at the Vice President level to join the Wholesale Credit Reserves Modeling team in New York. The team is responsible for development of expected credit loss and related models for Citi's wholesale credit portfolios, in support of setting reserves for reporting under the CECL and IFRS 9 accounting standards.


This is a highly visible role within the organization, covering a wide range of responsibilities to support the risk management of global wholesale credit portfolios. The successful candidate will be a part of highly productive analytical team and lead all aspects of the model development life cycle, which includes interaction with Senior Risk, Finance, Model Validation, and Business Managers, Internal Auditors and Regulators


**Responsibilities:**


+ Research, develop, and maintain quantitative and statistical wholesale credit loss and related models used for setting reserves for Citi and its subsidiaries

+ Conduct statistical analysis for risk related projects and data modeling/validation.

+ Apply quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods including Python and R programming, using Structured Query Language (SQL) to extract, transform and analyze data, and use spreadsheets to prepare and present data and analysis.

+ Prepare statistical and non-statistical data exploration, validate data, identify data quality issues.

+ Read and create formal documentation to review and validate quantitative models and document models developed.

+ Prepare documents and presentations to explain model inputs, assumptions, methods, and outputs to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise and familiarity with the model and standards.

+ Work with production model implementation teams to address issues as required.

+ Provide supervision and leadership within the team.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


**Qualifications:**


+ Graduate degree in Economics, Finance, or another quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Statistics, etc.)

+ Demonstrable interest in applying sophisticated mathematical/analytical techniques to solve real-world problemsespecially in banking, finance, or risk managementis required

+ 3+ years of experience in quantitative financial modeling, preferably in wholesale credit risk

+ Strong programming skills in Python, R, C++, or other programing languages

+ Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

+ Demonstrated project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time
