Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) brings together The Walt Disney Companys best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams together into one global organization. DMED is responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Companys content engines. DMED also manages operations of the Companys streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Disney+ Hotstar and Star; as well as all domestic broadcast and cable television networks.


This role works most closely with the Disney Platform Distribution division, a business unit within DMED that manages all third-party media sales efforts for distribution, affiliate marketing and affiliate-related business operations for all of the Companys direct-to-consumer services and linear media networks; content sales agreements for General Entertainment, Studios and Sports; as well as global theatrical film distribution; management of Disneys iconic El Capitan Theatre and the Disney Music Group.


The Senior Research Analyst, Distribution & Marketplace Insights, will participate in the collection, analysis and communication of data intended to gage the performance of a wide variety of Disney networks, apps and services. The Senior Research Analyst will help support the Platform Distribution Strategy and Sales teams, the DMED Networks Marketing teams, and other groups within the DMED organization. The scope of research includes work on multichannel trends [traditional and digital multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDS)], evolving media and consumer behavior (e.g. television viewing, streaming, subscription changes, app usage), and distribution negotiation support. The individual will have familiarity with many forms of media research, ideally with experience in television, streaming, and digital methodologies. The Senior Research Analyst will be naturally curious, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once and creative communication skills.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Provide cadenced reporting of content, network, service, and subscriber performance.

+ Reporting and analysis crafted via the use of Nielsen, first party, and third party data, in service of both broadly distributed communications intended to grow organizational knowledge, and custom requests from teams to answer client-specific questions.

+ Collaborate with various Disney network, direct-to-consumer, and home entertainment research teams to amplify insights designed to service DMED business objectives.

+ Participate in analysis of proprietary consumer research, designed to assess media and marketplace behavioral trends.

+ Immediate focus on topics such as viewing patterns shifts; cord cutters/nevers; DMVPD, direct-to-consumer app, and ad-supported video adoption; password sharing; and value of content genres and original programming to various subscription models.

+ Act as a student of the business in studying new and non-traditional data sources to understand methodology, collection and representation, and then translate these findings into digestible materials for stakeholders.

+ Create collateral materials for sales and marketing teams in support of renewal negotiations across multichannel operators, technology platforms, and home entertainment services.


**Basic Qualifications:**


+ 2-3 years of experience in media research.

+ Working knowledge of Nielsen and digital research tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Comscore).

+ Knowledge of media math concepts and data analysis.

+ Proficiency in Windows-based PC applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

+ Excellent writing skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and display strong attention to detail.

+ Sound mathematical ability, and experience with quantitative analysis.


**Preferred Qualifications:**


+ Photoshop or digital image editing experience a plus

+ Experience with software such as SPSS, Tableau and Domo preferred.
