Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
The Ion endoluminal system is Intuitive's new robotic platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the peripheral lung with an initial goal of improving the early diagnosis of lung cancer. You will work closely with clinical engineers, marketing, UX designers and other software teams to create new user experiences for the Ion platform. This senior level role will take you in new directions and leverage your capacity to learn quickly to create market disruptive applications. You will design and architect a variety of real time graphical user interface projects for a complex robotic system and develop prototype algorithmic solutions for medical imaging.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Work as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, start-up-like business unit.
Research, prototype, iterate algorithmic solutions to medical imaging segmentation, registration and reconstruction problems for surgical planning and navigation.
Design and implement user-facing software for a complex robotic system. This involves building traditional 2D GUI's and interactive 3D virtual environments.
Generate IP and evaluate future opportunities from a technical perspective.
Contribute high quality code to create a medical product that is safe and effective.
Support testing and documentation.
Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements:
Minimum 6 years' experience with MS in CS, EE, ME, BioE or related fields, or minimum 3 years' experience with PhD
Extensive C++ knowledge
Experience with OpenGL or similar CG libraries
Expertise in two or more of the following areas would be a big plus
Geometric computer vision
Deep Learning for computer vision / medical image analysis
Image segmentation
Medical image registration
CUDA
Great communication skills
High level of independence and technical ownership
Proven flexibility working within a dynamic and priority-changing environment
Highly Desired:
Experience with Python and multi-thread/process programming
Extensive experience with Qt/QML and/or other GUI frameworks
Experience using and developing in a Linux OS
Experience working in a production environment (CI, releases, bug tracking, etc...)
