The Senior Software Engineer in Test is responsible for ensuring the quality of Promethean's products. The Senior Engineer is a member of an agile team focused on delivery of key product functionality. The Senior Engineer will participate in the full lifecycle of the product from development to production and ensure quality software. The Senior QA Engineer designs medium to large solutions and reviews the work of other engineers to provide feedback.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Test, you will:

• Be an active participant in the day-to-day Scrum activities of the team including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospective.

• Own QA related sprint activities including estimation, manual and automated test planning and execution throughout agile development iterations.

• Work with Product Managers, UX Designers and Engineers to gain consensus on production readiness.

• Design, develop and maintain manual and automated tests for web, API and mobile devices.

• Create and manage bug reports, ensuring they are clearly communicated to the team and addressed in a timely, thorough, and satisfactory manner

• Develop high-quality test plans and contribute to development standards by setting new patterns and best practices

• Provide feedback and recommendations on software usability and functionality

• Review the work of teammates to ensure quality and adherence to system architecture and best practices

• Investigate customer problems referred by technical support

• Be a passionate voice of the customer

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years related work experience including writing test cases, test plans and test automation

• Experience with modern programming languages (e.g. Javascript, Typescript, Java) and test automation frameworks (e.g. WebdriverIO, Appium, Selenium Webdriver, CucumberIO)

• Familiarity with performance testing and frameworks (e.g. Artillery)

• A strong understanding of testing methodologies and software engineering in an Agile environment.

• Strong QA skills: planning, exploratory testing, defect reporting and troubleshooting

• Experience with application lifecycle management tools and concepts for version control, and continuous integration (e.g. Git, Bamboo)

• Great problem solving skills

• Ability to deal with ambiguity and flexibility to work collaboratively with others in a dynamic environment

• Excellent communication skills, collaboration, follow-up and self-motivation

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
