Our Private Client Services Tax practice seeks an accomplished Senior Tax Manager experienced in serving high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and their businesses, who excels in client deliverables, exhibits strong leadership capabilities, and has a passion for the public accounting profession, to join our Private Client Services (PCS) Tax team. In this role you will utilize your technical expertise and provide sophisticated tax compliance and tax advisory services to our valued clients. T he PCS practice provides tax services to high-net worth individuals, family-owned businesses, trusts, estates, companies that generate family income, and wealth transfer issues that take place between generations. Clients that are serviced by the PCS Tax group are located both domestically and internationally.
This is a national practice. The position can take place in any of our Mazars U.S. office locations. Our firm also offers remote working.
What You Will Do:
Review high-net worth and ultra-high net worth individual income tax returns
Review trusts, private foundations, and entity tax returns that are often part of a family office group
Develop and sustain strong relationships with clients and their team of professional advisors
Coordinate with clients and their advisors on quarterly and year-end tax planning and projections
Provide tax solutions for tax treatment of private equity and hedge fund investments, intra-family gifting and planning, deferred compensation, and related technical matters
Respond to federal and state tax notices while collaborating on tax exams with Controversy team
Review and analyze transactions for purchase and sale of assets, application of tax law changes,
Responsible for engagement planning, organization, delegation, productivity, and realization
Perform tax research using CCH Intelliconnect and other firm sponsored software
Manage client assignments and assure timely filing of all related tax returns and planning projects
Responsible for the professional development of tax staff on technical matters, client service and technology
Develop external relationships with a goal of fostering business development opportunities through leadership opportunities in professional groups, community service, personal relationships and professional advisors
Participate in client proposals and new business development opportunities
What We Seek:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a business-related field of study
CPA license or J.D.
Advanced tax degree (MST, JD, LLM) is preferred
8+ years of relevant tax experience working in a CPA firm or tax consulting practice
Strong technical knowledge of individual tax planning and compliance matters
Significant tax experience serving High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth individual clients & their related entities, businesses, & families, and networking with their various professional advisors (attorneys, estate planners, investment advisors, insurance advisors, etc)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Demonstrated success development other professionals
Ability to travel to client locations as needed
Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
