This role is part of a cross functional team responsible for delivering Bank of America's network automation strategy. With the development of internally written applications a different set of skills is required than those which the network operations team currently have. The Engineer's role will bring expertise to the network automation team in areas of operational support of applications and their associated infrastructure. The skills of supporting software and associated systems including servers, databases, authentication / authorization, monitoring, integrations with other applications is very different from the support of network infrastructure such as routers / switches and network management applications, where the vendor can be expected to provide the necessary expertise.



Activities by which maintenance and operations of applications are not expected to be purely manual in nature. A culture of automation pervades the team and this role has the expectation that repeatable manual processes will be automated where possible aligned with the tenants of DevOps.



The network automation team operates within the SAFe agile framework so candidates will be expected to participate in the various agile meetings and events.



**Required skills**



+ 5+ years in experience in supporting and maintaining an in-house developed application

+ Demonstrable skills / knowledge such as:

+ Linux system administration e.g. RHEL

+ Container platforms such as OpenShift

+ Databases e.g. MySQL

+ Authentication / Authorisation e.g. OAuth, SAML

+ Security: e.g. Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

+ Configuration management: e.g. Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack etc

+ Comfort with designing / building / executing day to day operational processes

+ Ability to build and maintain documentation for support

+ Experience with Infrastructure as Code

+ Understanding of complex interconnectivity, topology and relationships of client server, virtual, container and physical environments

+ Ability to work independently and within a globally distributed team



**Desired skills**



+ Knowledge and experience with networking technologies such as: Switching, Routing, Application Delivery, Firewalling, Proxy, DNS, Time services, Overlay Networking,

+ Knowledge of multiple programming/scripting languages: Python, Ansible, Javascript, PowerShell, Java, C++, Ruby or Perl would also be useful

$100,000 - $135,000

annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
