About this Position:
The Programmer Analyst has the responsibility to provide strategic counsel to MSA leadership to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective systems and applications and/or services for all aspects of the organization. This role will also consult with internal architecture teams and Senior Programmer Analysts within the MSA department to comply with application architectures and new standards, policies, procedures, best practices, and target state as it relates to the systems and applications deployed for support of NA automobile, powertrain, and powersports manufacturing operations delivery.
Responsibilities include:
Work with and provide counsel on strategic initiatives to a broad range of individual contributors (business analysts, project managers, software developers, architects, senior programmer analysts, etc.) within the North America region.
Lead small and medium sized projects (medium complexity) to completion and provide consulting support while engaging multiple stakeholders both within North America region.
Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of application solutions.
Implement and maintain current and target state application and database architectures.
Assist team lead with definition and management of application technology standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure best quality.
Consult with external application solution providers to ensure successful implementation and support of third-party application solutions.
Oversee end-to-end systems development life cycle management activities for small to medium sized initiatives.
Lead and participate in the maintenance, optimization, and configuration tuning of manufacturing IT production applications.
Lead and participate in the provisioning, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery of manufacturing IT production applications.
Lead and participate in application Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution in accordance with RPO/RTO and defined SLAs.
Assists with evaluation of emerging technologies.
Who we are seeking:
Required Work Experience:
Minimum 8 years IT experience with the following:
Modern concepts such as microservices, container-based development, DevOps, and Cloud deployment.
Managing enterprise level applications.
Developing reference architecture, principles, and standards.
Working with relational database technologies (SQL, DB2, etc.).
Developing and managing WebSphere applications.
Development using Java or .Net.
In-depth knowledge on Mfg. line control system. Strong ability to lead complex troubleshooting of line control system issues.
This role is expected to play the SME role for line control applications and systems.
Minimum 5 years of experience:
Developing and managing Java and .NET applications.
Working with SQL databases.
Experience in applying the latest software development using OOP Concepts, Java, and Java EE (Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JNDI), Web Services (SOAP, WSDL), REST Web Services, Java Script, HTML, AJAX, jQuery and XML.
In-depth knowledge and experience on machine Interface for plant floor automation.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems and/or equivalent industry experience.
Desired skills:
Good knowledge of data management, data integration, and database development techniques.
Ability to relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needs.
Ability to regularly learn and adopt new technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project teams.
Prefer to have candidate to have 8+ years of mfg. IT development and implementation experience to efficiently deliver high quality solution.
Demonstrated outstanding commitment to provide application solution to critical manufacturing needs, and to resolve high severity issue in a timely manner-during or outside of normal working window.
