Software Development Engineer (IT Product Engineering - Carbon)

Job Description

Exciting things are happening in Product Engineering IT.

Come Join Intel - Intel is in the midst of an exciting transformation with a vision to create and extend computing technology to connect and enrich the lives of every person on earth. At Intel, we are building and architecting solutions that unite hardware and software, partnering with a broad ecosystem to deliver solutions across several vertical industries. Within the Intel IT organization, we bring light to those solutions, showcase the capabilities, and drive awareness and affinity for our leadership products, solutions, and tools. As part of the Product Engineering IT team, we help accelerate Intel's business transformation and drive greater security and technology alignment, as well as delivering the highest quality products, among our thousands of silicon and software experts.

Opportunity for a senior technical developer to drive the platform for Intel to plan and execute its silicon lifecycle . Carbon is Intel's System of Record for IP metadata and SoC Bill of Materials (BoMs). This system allows IP teams to plan their IP deliveries and align with the SoC milestone-based roadmap. Additionally, it is the system in which silicon IP usage traceability, bugeco tracking, and sighting data is visualized, ensuring our products have every bug closed before tapein. In addition to managing internal IP, it is also the hub for managing external IP. The Carbon solution is based on enterprise-wide HSDES with a powerful graph representation from neo4j, and a designer-centric, intuitive visualization of the IP and SoC ecosystem. Carbon's future roadmap involves playing a key role in Gladius' dFlow initiatives to provide an IP management framework that brings together all aspects of IP lifecycle from requirements, planning, release tracking, and bug-aware integration.

In this role, your responsibilities will include

  • Developing the Carbon UI. The major technologies used include Angular, Typescript, and ag-Grid.

  • Working with Product Owners to understand complex requirements.

  • Working with back-end developers to define and consume APIs.

  • Writing unit tests. Working with other team members to enhance or maintain existing e2e tests.

Since the customers of this platform are the design engineers and IP planners who are building and using Intel's IP to build our silicon products, fluency in the basics of semiconductor design is a plus. Aspects of this role will include partnering with other teams to design and develop optimized solutions for accelerating Intel's product development. The quality and reliability of this system are of utmost importance, as the design team's productivity depends on this system's availability and performance.
