Job Description
The Software and Advanced Technology Group is looking for a software engineer to research, develop, and optimize industry leading parallel runtime libraries for Intel's compute platforms. In this role, you will be working with other high performance computing experts to develop the world's leading HPC systems used for scientific research and artificial intelligence. As a critical member of our team responsible for designing high performance data communication algorithms, you will have the opportunity to optimize system performance and provide feedback to hardware engineering teams on future product design. In addition, this role will use key insights into customer applications and workloads to drive design improvements.
An ideal candidate for this position will have experience designing and optimizing parallel runtime libraries used in HPC clusters and a thorough understanding of hardware components used in high performance computing, including discrete GPUs, CPUs, high performance interconnects, and networking software stacks. A candidate should have a solid understanding of system performance analysis and be able to debug complex defects. As part of a high performing team, this role requires excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a team oriented environment. Also required is a keen desire to work with customer support engineers to keep our stakeholders happy and productive.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
You must have a Master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience or PhD in computer science, computer engineering or a related field with 1+ years of experience in the following technical skills:
Experience with parallel programming, runtimes at large scale, and HPC application performance optimization
Experience with CPU architecture, discrete GPUs, high performance network/fabric and I/O software stacks and interconnect layers
Good understanding of system software (library, OS, runtime...)
Fluency in C/C++ with strong debugging skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of network transports, programming models for distributed memory such as MPI, PGAS. Experience with other parallel programming paradigms such as OpenMP, Cilk Plus, or Threading Building Blocks
Familiarity with compilers (gcc, LLVM, Intel) and the load/link process
Comfortable working with simulators
Knowledge of Unix/Linux, and scripting languages (e.g. bash, Perl, Python, or Ruby).
Sysadmin experience for Linux systems

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$149,020.00-$223,560.00

Work Model for this Role
This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
