The Finance and Risk Data Controls organization is the central technology team that not only acquires and manages data but also provides certain key core services that empower data scientists, risk managers and asset class controllers to truly harness the power of our data to effectively report on the firm™s performance and risk exposure. We constantly strive to use cutting edge technology in delivering optimal business solutions keeping up with the rapidly evolving tech world of today. Hence core services engineers are absolutely key to the success of our organization.

The primary remit of the core services engineer is:

  1. Understand the general landscape of the data as well as the system architecture.

  2. Adopt cutting edge technologies such as cloud/containers as a part of application evolution and modernization.

  3. Work passionately towards building culture of innovation leveraging industry-wide technology trends and best practices.

  4. Have a product-centric mindset to build containerized and reusable applications.

  5. Demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment and constantly strive towards improving the practices within the organization.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates should possess:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience with newer application development paradigms Event driven, Micro Services, Scalable & Self-healing systems.

  • Exposure to one major cloud platform Pivotal Cloud, AWS, Google Cloud and Azure.

  • Minimum of 5-8 years as Full stack developer with the knowledge of the following technologies:

    • JDK 8, Spring boot, Spring cloud

    • Event/Message driven architectures: KAFKA, Messaging (MQ Series , JMS)

    • ReactJS

    • Database: Oracle, DB2, MySQL Maria DB or any other relational databases

    • BDD/TTD: Cucumber, Selenium, Jasmin/Karma, etc

  • Versed with CI/CD toolsets like Maven, Jenkins

  • Working experience on large-scale applications in an enterprise environment.

Additionally, an understanding of at least some of these technologies and practices is beneficial:

  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as Go/Java/Scala

  • Ability to use Liquid as a template language will be a big advantage.

  • Modern web technologies such as NodeJS, AngularJS, React, Redux, or Typescript.

  • Prior experience with No-Sql databases

  • Understanding of modern secure authentication services such as Kerberos.
