Position Summary
We are looking for a Software Engineer III to become a part of the Cross-Asset API and AMPS Bus Application Development Team within Global Markets Operations Technology.
This is a high-profile role associated with two key application integration platforms: a mission-critical high-performance messaging infrastructure that underpins real time regulatory reporting and securities Straight Through Processing for allocation/booking/clearing/settlement, and our strategic data serialization framework/models for real-time trade processing flows.
Required Skills
5+ years of software development experience with Python. The candidate must be a self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced and complex environment with minimal oversight. The candidate is required to have excellent communication skills and possess a strong sense of accountability and responsibility Hands-on experience with application performance tuning and optimization Ability to perform detailed and complex data analysis Attention to detail and ability to work independently Experience working in an Agile environment
Desired Skills
Additional software development experience with Java, C#, C++ preferred AMPS experience is preferred but experience with alternate messaging frameworks such as Kafka or MQ would be beneficial Experience with the Apache Avro serialization preferred Experience with the ISDA CDM standard preferred Knowledge of Global Markets products/asset classes and associated data including fixed income, equities, derivatives, and foreign exchange securities, preferred.

Establish self as a Subject Matter Expert of the platform Build technology solutions, aligning both business and technical considerations Expand the platform while managing technical scope and client expectations Willing to step in and handle end to end flows, application impacts and error resolution.

LOB General:
Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.
