We are looking for you to join our team as a **Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer** based out of **McClellan, CA** . The sector strategic Independent Research And Development (IRAD) initiatives are seeking software developers and integrators who have experience in cloud-native technologies, architectures, and techniques, with a keen interest in learning how to apply these techniques and architectures to the embedded, edge and forward deployed systems. Ideally, experience in software development and integration for embedded systems is desired, but not required. In addition, the ideal candidate would have an understanding of the impact to software deployments and configurations on various processing platforms, with limited resources. Our team uses agile development methods to support multiple projects with a single engineering team, and is committed to using Dev*Ops processes for enabling systems of systems solutions. Our initiatives are seeking candidates who are self-starters, interested in investigating the art of the possible with cloud-native technologies, enabling new use cases.
**What Youll Get To Do:**
The new team member will design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensure software standards are met.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Cross-compile mature software for various processing architectures
+ Use container engines and container tools to develop OCI-compliant container images for existing software applications (e.g. Docker images)
+ Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
+ Follow software development standards for configuration management, software reuse, and Dev*Ops processes
+ Contribute to/consume from product line software

Salary Range: $82,400.00 - $123,600.00Salary Range 2: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
